COMPANY HISTORY

My name is Chris Vassiliades and I set up Safecutters UK in 1999 to develop and promote my range of innovative product designs for both industry and home use.

As well as being a typical garden shed British inventor, I also have 43 years of experience in the British manufacturing and distribution sector. Over the years, I have combined my enthusiasm for invention with practical experience to provide solutions to the problems I have faced within my working environment.

The feedback I received from colleagues, employers and management during my career for my ideas was always encouraging and convinced me to pursue invention further.

It was not until I was made redundant close to retirement that I started thinking of a way of making better use of my ideas and creating marketable products for the wider benefit of all.

CASE STUDY -THE SAFECUTTER Handy

In the workplace, a frequent problem involved the safe cutting of materials such as straps, tape, shrink-wrapping and string.
Further problems also extended to management concerns at the misuse of open bladed knives. Thieving, damage to the goods and security issues were so rife that the use of knives was banned altogether in many premises. Tools that existed and complied with security and safety regulations had so many disadvantages that help often turned to frustration!
Employees were left to struggle with either bare hands or inappropriate equipment to cut through tape, shrink-wrapping and other materials. This affected productivity, ultimately increasing overheads and reducing profitability.

Clearly, in this instance, a better and safer tool was needed, so “Safecutter Handy” was born. - one multi-functional tool with a closed curved blade that cuts in many directions.

THE FUTURE – WATCH THIS SPACE

Two more tools based on the same principle have been patented and are waiting development.
Other inventions are in the design stages.
